Testimonials Two

Even after Doug's initial visit to our house, we saw a different dog emerge. Caleb was becoming aggressive towards strangers and quite unpredictable. My husband and I were first time dog owners and we didn't have the experience or the knowledge of how to deal with this situation. Doug arrived and started teaching us how to deal with situations and how to take control over our dog.

We learned quickly that a dog who knows his place in the house, is a happy, confident dog. Doug has been out to our house 4 times and Caleb has already graduated from Basic Obedience, and is thriving in Advanced. He is a happier dog and is enjoying everything Doug can throw at him. The turnaround we've seen in our dog is amazing since we started working with Doug He is now friendly with strangers, we have him working with hand signals, and have him in the agility class also. Caleb is loving every minute of it.

DO YOU HAVE A CANINE FRIEND THAT'S TAKING OVER YOUR LIFE??

Doug Morrison has become a very important part of my life. I have a 13 year old Yorkie ( the Professor ) He was a treat , right the very start. then I rescued a 4 month old Yorkie, (the Judge ), and lets just say we will call him the Tornado. He was completely out of control. He barked continually, refused to be toilet trained, and would jump all over me and my guests all the time. His favorite place would be to run over the neck and shoulders and bite at my eyes all the time. For months I could never enjoy a cup of tea without wearing half of it.

I enrolled the Judge in puppy classes and took him faithfully for 8 lessons. did I see any change ? NONE

The explanation the trainer gave me was that he was just too small to teach in any conventional manner. They suggested that I practice more with him and then enroll him in another 8 week course called the obedience course. So there I go again, out with the check book. they also said it was important to bring him without feeding him. A hungry dog will do anything for food. RIGHT. After two or three pieces of food a 2.5 pound Yorkie is full. He lost interest and I had a dog that was even worse. Mind you I have 2 certificates stating that he graduated from puppy school and obedience school. WHAT A JOKE.

At this point I had a dog that was approaching 1 year of age and I was very frustrated and loosing faith. I was really sorry I had taken him on......
AND THEN THERE WAS DOUG

Doug Morrison rescued me. Doug understands Dogs and loves them. He taught me about the canine world and how not to confuse it to the human world. Doug explained his philosophies and his reasoning behind what it was he was asking me to do, although I had reservations, I agrees to give it a try.

After only ONE lesson, the Judge stopped his barking. I had learned that pushing the dog off me did not hurt his feelings, but rather that it taught him respect for me. Food treats were out as a reward, just lots of love and kisses.

I now had a clear idea of what I WAS EXPECTED TO DO in order to ultimately achieve the desired results with my little guy. All of this in only ONE LESSON.

Needless to say that one lesson has changes my entire life. Under DOUG'S METHOD of dog training I understand what a trained dog is all about.

NO food or other bribes were used to achieve these results. It was never even suggested that I punish or hurt my dog. I SIMPLY FOLLOWED DOUG'S INSTRUCTIONS. His years of expertise really paid off for me.

Thanks to Doug Morrison I have a better understanding of dogs.

The Judge has finished his basic obedience course, which includes both on and off leash work, and I now have him in the SUPER DOG COURSE. Look at the pictures........

I know Doug will always be there to help me if needed. Its nice to know that not only I have a new friend, but so do my boys. thank you DOUG

I would like to thank you for a job well done. I never would of thought that a three and a half week old puppy with aggression and no manners what so ever would turn out so well after your puppy class. Mika no longer has an aggression problem thanks to you, and for that we are grateful. Mika can also sit, lie down and stay. We are looking forward to you next obedience class. We will recommend you to anyone that comes our way with the same sort of problem. Thanks again, Doug

As first time dog/puppy owners we found out the hard way how imptant training really is to both our family and our puppy. About a week after getting our pup we decided that we needed help. After much research I discovered Doug Morrison's website. I decided to contact Doug even though I lived in Quebec and he was in B.C . I wrote to him explaining our situation and how I was having trouble finding someone experienced and willing to train at our home.

Thankfully Doug recommended and put us in contact with someone he personally trained here in our area, Eric Moreault. I first spoke with Eric on the phone asking him many questions before actually setting up a date for our first session. He was very personable and helpful. I was looking forward to starting training with him.

During the first session Eric addressed many of our concerns including our puppy's mouthing and aggressiveness and how to deal with these problems. He also taught us the techniques to teach our dog to sit and heel on command. At the end of the session Eric told us that we could call him anytime for advice or with any questions we may have. As life with puppy had been pretty much frustrating since he came home with us this was extremely comforting.

Our puppy, Jake, has now completed his third session and the improvement is amazing. He no longer has an attitude and is not biting anything and everything in sight. To add to that he is listening to the commands sit, heel, down and stay much to our enjoyment and I believe his too.

We are looking forward to our next sessions with great enthusiasm. Eric is a wonderful trainer not to mention a great guy.

Thank you Doug for setting us up with Eric! Thank you Eric for everything! Thanks to Morrison Canine Development!
